Housing microfinance was one of the key microfinance products that MABS reviewed in Cantilan Bank.

MABS reviewed Cantilan Bank’s microfinance (MF) operations in a four-day technical assistance visit conducted in August 2009.  With the bank’s microfinance team, MABS visited selected branches to determine good practices and areas for improvement regarding the bank’s microfinance services which include: MicroEnterprise Loan (MEP) for groups and individuals, Housing Microfinance (HMF), and their Mobile Phone Banking Services.

MABS conducted a series of client consultations through focus group discussions and one-on-one interviews to determine the clients’ level of satisfaction with the bank’s microfinance services and their financial risk exposure and household needs. One of the salient research findings was the clients’ high regard for the bank staff’s friendliness, accessibility and professionalism, be it within the bank premises or on the field.
