Laguna RBs oriented on the MABS Approach

Continuing to expand its reach to more rural banks and rural bank clients, MABS introduced the MABS Program, its history, accomplishments and the MABS Approach to Microfinance to the members of the Federation of Laguna Rural Banks. In the latter’s monthly meeting held on November 10 in Nagcarlan, Laguna, MABS highlighted its continued success in promoting the MABS Approach to Microfinance, as well as in assisting rural banks in implementing MABS initiatives.
The presentation was intended to orient Laguna rural banks on MABS and the MABS Approach, and present how microfinance can bring about a bank’s growth. By the end of the presentation, MABS discussed the process of becoming a MABS participating bank (PB). Four new rural bank heads led by the Federation president, Mr. Manuel Ramon Melencio, expressed interest in the MABS Approach. They are expected to undergo the MABS Senior Management Orientation, which is the stepping stone in becoming a MABS PB.
