MABS conducts Operations Review at RB Solano

With its strong commitment in providing continuous technical assistance to its participating banks, MABS conducted a three-day operations review and technical assistance visit for the Rural Bank of Solano on November 18-20, 2009. The review was aimed at assessing the performance and present status of the bank’s microfinance loan products; evaluating the strengths and areas of improvement of the products, their delivery systems, loan documentation, and Management Information System (MIS); and recommending improvements in the product design and operational system.
MABS focused on reviewing RB Solano’s ISALABAY Loan, an individual microfinance product, and conducting focused group discussions to the MF Unit Staff and selected clients on their views, ideas and recommendations regarding the existing loan product. MABS also conducted field visits and surveyed clients as part of analyzing the bank’s lending processes and management system.
Based in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, RB Solano plans to expand its banking services making microfinance as entry point to command a larger market share in the province. The bank currently has a branch in Bagabag and field offices in Bambang and Bayombong,all of which are in Nueva Vizcaya.
