Rural Bank of Cauayan, Inc. gets introduced to the MABS Approach

Fifty senior officers and staff of the Rural Bank of Cauayan, Inc. participated last August 22 in the senior management orientation by the USAID-supported Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines-Microenterprise Access to Banking Services (RBAP-MABS) Program and Punla sa Tao Foundation, one of the MABS service providers.

The orientation is an introductory course on the MABS Approach Training and Technical Services, a systematic step-by-step training and technical assistance package provided by MABS service providers to support rural banks as they develop the capability micro-loan, micro-deposit, money transfer and other financial services to meet the needs of microentrepreneurs and low-income households.

RB Cauayan has total assets of PhP 361 million and 16 branches in Region 2 and is now interested in developing microfinance services.
